Setup:You sale printing / printed marketing materials. Your largest most important client has a print job they need turned around by 8:00 a.m. the next day. This client is highly particular and NEVER settles for less than the very best quality. Client tells you if you cannot meet the 8:00 a.m. deadline you will no longer be their rep or company of record any longer. You work with the press and they confirm the job can be produced and fulfilled by 7:30 next day exactly as quoted to the client.
Problem:
3:00 p.m. the day before the job is due, the press calls you and tells you they are out of the paper stock that was quoted. Client will not settle for anything other than the paper that was quoted. The pressman has called around Houston and there is no paper stock anywhere in Houston. Worse, all paper suppliers close at 3:00 p.m.
