Google’s Big Chrome Change & How It Affects You

HTTPS Migration

Daaaaaamn Daniel. Google is back at it again with the Chrome changes. Google announced earlier this month that it would rolling out some new things in July. 1st thing – Page Speed will now play an important part in ranking for mobile sites. Basically, if your mobile site delivers a “slow experience to users” you will be penalized.

But the second announcement is a MUCH bigger deal (IMHO). Google announced that it will mark all sites that have not migrated to HTTPS as “not secure”. Depending on your clients site (and scope) this could be quite the nightmare. Seach Engine Land has an in depth breakdown of the HTTPS migration and what it means for you.
